Anna's Visit
I came to stay with you after our house burned down. That was April 1985. The details I know aren't complete, but sometime shortly after the fire, Mom went to apply for Section 8 housing assistance b/c she and Conley had no place to live. The Housing Authority told her that if she didn't find someplace for me to stay, they were going to call DSS. So she sent me to you. I remember that you worked out a deal for me to get swimming lessons from a lady you trimmed trees for. I remember being really freaked out when you left me there, but then really enjoying the lessons. I also remember getting to go to Pete's with you and sitting at the end of the bar and drinking Shirley Temples. I felt so grown up!
